Whereas many knife manufacturers today depend on automated production and large product lines, a Helle depends on quality and production through craftmanship. Since 1932 Helle knives has represented the highest traditions of quality in nordic craftmanship. Despite its aesthetic qualities, a Helle knife is not made to be an ornament.
It is made to be used.
Helle knives are designed to retain their sharp edge as a lifelong outdoor companion. However, it is important to take care of your knife. Keep your knife clean and dry after every use. If you have cut meat or fish, we recommend that you rinse it in fresh water and dry it before storing it.
Clean the handle with the dry soft clod (included with the product purchase). You should also clean the bade with this non-abrasive cloth, and treat with grease, or oil it periodically. The sheath will retain its colour if its not left in direct sunlight for long periods. Impregnate it occasionally with a colorless impregnation agent, a non-acidic grease or wax such as saddle grear or Dubbin. This will help keep the leather supple and shiny.
Dry the sheath carefully in room temperature if it becomes wet.
